House League Information for Spring Soccer

Lightning Policy

Please be aware of the following Saskatchewan Soccer Association policy, which we are required to follow as a member organization:

In games, the match official has the authority over delaying or restarting a match due to weather. Waiting to stop play or not waiting to start or re-start play may result in a serious injury or loss of life. Match officials are expected to act responsibly when dealing with such events during games they are controlling.

If you can hear thunder, you can get hit by lightning. As soon as you hear thunder, quickly get to a safe location. More people are struck before and after a thunderstorm than during one. Stay inside for 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder.

The ‘30/30 Rule’ or ‘Flash to Bang’ methods are no longer recommended by Environment Canada and are not to be used by match officials, team personnel, or participants.

We want to emphasize that the safety of our participants is our top priority.

While thunder and lightning requires games to be delayed or potentially cancelled, please note that games will continue rain or shine, AS RAIN ALONE DOES NOT WARRANT CANCELLATION.

Spring Soccer 2025

PAYSA's Two Levels of Training:

1. The first level is our recreational House league, this concentrates on players having fun and developing a passion for play. They will experience success and build confidence by receiving positive recognition for participating. These are game only settings with no extra training involved.

2. The second level is Celtic teams which will be our division 1 or 2 players who will be attending tournaments, Provincials and Club Days representing PAYSA. Players in this level will develop basic skills and continue to introduce advanced and position specific principles as well. Practices are weekly with complex and demanding drills to address their strengths and weaknesses with the goal to improve. These players will also be participating in the House league first level (as described above).
